Hi there, lovelies! Today I want to introduce you to one of my favorite ladies and event industry creatives, Kim Small of With Wild and Grace. We at L&L Events have been so lucky to have worked with Kim on multiple occasions; we are always excited to see where her artistry takes her. 1. Tell us a bit about yourself and what inspired you to start your stationery and design business:
“I started With Wild and Grace about two years ago. My best friends and my mom were getting married all in the same year. They showed me their invitation designs that they wanted and I knew I could make it. With no experience with graphic design, I decided to take the plunge and dive into the creative design world. In the beginning it was a definitely a big learning curve and it’s been exciting to see how far I’ve come. With Wild and Grace really gives me the creative outlet I was searching for and it’s so rewarding to be apart of a couple’s big day.”
2. What is your favorite aspect of working with wedding clients and what sets you apart from other stationery designers?
“I absolutely love working with clients that want something different and unique. When couples are open to anything, it really allows me to be completely creative and think outside the box.”
3.What is your favorite item to design for a wedding?
“Hm.. My favorite item to design right now would be Snapchat Geofilters. They’re so IN right now and I absolutely love seeing the couple’s reaction and how excited they get.”
4.What is your best piece of advice for future bride and grooms?
“My husband and I just had our wedding in August and so I know first hand the stress that comes from wedding planning. The BEST advice I can give is get the ‘details’ and projects out of the way early. As you get closer to your big day, you have to do things that you didn’t think about in the beginning and that take a lot of time. Also, make sure you have a great team of wedding vendors. This team make up the core of your wedding day and if you have strong, reliable and professional vendors, your wedding day will go off without a hitch.”
5. Just for fun! If you could create an invitation suite or signage for any famous event or couple in history, what or who would it be for and why?
“Ah, this is hard. I have crushes on quite a few celebrity couples but I think the one couple that I would have died to create a suite or sign for would be John Krasinski + Emily Blunt — I love how real their love is for one another and how sweet he speaks about his wife and family.. major couple goals right there.”
